So long 2010, hello 2011
Alright, 2010, where should I start with you. It was definately an interesting year in my life. I'd say one of the biggest things that happen this year was I got a job gogo dancing at Aura. It is so amazing. Dancing is something I truly love and being there with the crowd having fun is such a rush. It is fun to do something that I'm passionate about.
From dancing I was lucky to meet Shannon who is basically my twin. Love that girl to no end. Naturally from dancing I have meet lots of fun people. Again, this job completely rocks.
Hmm what else, oh yeah my love life. Always a sore subject. Tried dating a friend only to be disappointed. Somehow ended up falling for Scott again. To the point that when he mentioned me moving, getting married, having kids, becoming Jewish and so on, I was all in. But then he changed his mind. I was upset of course but naturally where there is hurt, music is the cure. That same week Meg & Dia put out an album that made everything okay.
If I could sum up everything I wanted to tell Scott but didn't it would be with the lyric "Don't be careful with me, I'm not so delicate, I gave you my heart, I know the chance I'm taking, don't hesitate in love, it could leave your soul undone, you can't stick your toes in the water, you gotta jump, finally go underwater."
Then to sum of my feeling towards love in general, the lyrics to Love Song. "Love wouldn't you find me again, don't wait for my heart to mend, I wanna love in love again, why must we wait in the dark, when all you need's another heart, to make your broken heart seem fair away."
Now I have a new crush. It's not much of a secret, lol. He seems like a nice guy that makes me laugh which is awesome. It is hard to tell where he stands but I'm trying. Liking someone that lives close is so stressful, lol. Give me back long distance. Not really but those relationships are so damn easy.
Well if that doesn't work out I'm going back to the rule that brought Scott into my life.... Only date guys who understand what I mean when I say I love Aspen Mathews. Nerd status.
Another high point of the year was finishing a second book. I really need to get on top of editing and getting published. Also I read 60 books this year! Pretty much all being Urban Fantasys and Paranormal Fiction. We wouldn't talk about how many had vampires in them, haha.
I unfornately got my hair wacked off recently thanks to the stylist not understanding what keep the length meant so the end of 2010, beginning of 2011 is not going quite as planned. I have big plans for 2011 though.
Plan wise, I have Vegas in March for Shannon's post birthday week party. Hopefully we will get gogo auditions!
Then in April/May heading out to my favorite place in the world, New Jersey! Getting to see Gatsbys American Dream and The Movielife is going to be a dream come true. Hopefully more traveling plans will follow.
Personal goals, again to get published is number one. I will work hard on this. I have to. I need to work as an author. End of story.
I'm also planning to start a photo series. I did this last year but it tampered off fast. This time getting out of my house and doing something that I've always been drawn to. That is a weird way to say it when you see what I'm going to do but let's just say it will be inspired by my two favorite photos of all time. Actually one of them inspired me to get into photography in the first place. It is going to be hard without a full photoshop but oh well. I will try and maybe I'll get full photoshop.
Um, that is all I can think to say right now. I'll try to write more this year. Of course I'll still be posting stuff over at www.heatherfinley.net
Thanks for reading!
I promise feature post will be less type, more pics.

A few things
1- My friend Ben from Cali is fucking awesome.
2- Circus Solarium was pretty damn awesome too. I loved the sword dancer. Why did I not learn to do that when I was little? I guess I still could. Where does one learn how to sword balance? Hmm.

3- I really don’t get what all the excitement last night was about my outfit. I feel like a corset and jeans can be worn almost anywhere. So not scandalous. Plus between my flickr and what I wear normally, haven’t you all seen it all? And there is naked girls to look at. That has to be more exciting than me.
With that said, however, I will admit my boobs looked huge last night.
Thank you Victoria Secret plus Target for making a corset that almost fit me. It was still too big around for me. My rib cage is so small.
4- I really sealed my nerd status today. While driving home, I thought to myself, I miss the game Quest for the N64. I wanted another RPG game. Well since I was listening to Lights, I remembered what game she has tattoos of and writes songs about…
Oh yes I did. World of Warcraft baby.
Um then I played like all evening. Well after the hour or two it took to install. Too bad I completely suck at this point. I died then got completely lost finding my taskmaster dude. Needless to say, I’m addicted already.
5- Now I’m watching Sarah Landon and the Paranormal Hour. Naturally I love it because I like pretty much all scary movies.

Lost
Lost is over. So sad. If you haven’t watched the finale, don’t read this.
Okay so I’m kind of recent to the whole Lost thing. I started watching a week before the last season started. Naturally I fell in love with the series though.
Fast forward to the last show. So it was good but not exactly what I wanted. I just felt like the flash sideways didn’t really make sense. I say this because on the island, in the second to last episode, they said something about Desmond being a safeguard. My guess was that Jack would fail on the island and that Desmond would save it in the sideways.
Even if I accept the whole sideways thing was a place they all went to after they died to move on together, who does that leave in charge of the island now? Vincent? The only thing I can think of is that Hurley changed the rules somehow and he was the one that created the sideways too. He was always trying to bring people together after all. Think about the golf course and when he was put in charge of the food.
Obviously, I’m still completely confused. Oh well. What would Lost be without feeling completely clueless after watching it.
Oh and I went to Sarah and Dante’s with Jenni to watch the finale. I went dressed as a dead Oceanic flight attendant. I also brought/made Dharma Initiative chocolates and peanuts.

Vegas Recap
So yeah, Vegas was amazing. No big surprise there. Here are a couple of my favorite photos…
Nerd alert! Love it.
I think this would be what they called the magic hour in photo class. The lighting from the sunset combined with the lighting of the building and fountain was amazing.
My favorite dress ever. We stayed at the Hooters hotel. This was my going out dress for night one. Jenni and I were both very tired so ended up at NY, NY. We went to Rok. It was okay. My bartender was hot but besides that no cute guys. One guy asked me about 40 times if I would dance with his friend. I nicely declined.
Then I got a little tipsy and had a Taylor Swift dance party by the Alpaca store. Good times!
Oh and this day we ate at my favorite restaurant, Blondies. I’m all about food no matter where I’m traveling.
Day two the weather completely sucked. We made the best out of it by going to the Shark Reef. Then we did a ton of wondering around. Jenni hadn’t been inside many of the casinos the previous times she went to Vegas.
That night was what we deemed Lady GaGa night, mainly after my makeup.
Here is my favorite photo of Jenni from the whole trip. Classic.
Here’s a little better look at my makeup.
Then we went out to Coyote Ugly because by the time we were ready, it was so late so we wanted somewhere close. At first it was super lame but then I said, whatever, I actually paid to get in here so I’m having fun. I started dancing. Jenni started dancing. I was singing along with all the songs which were an awesome mix. We ended up dancing on the bar. Free shots all night long. Jenni got surrounded by guys. I think I always give off the do-not-talk-to-me vibe from being in clubs so much. Oh well. Again, no cute guys anyways.
And here is the funniest picture ever of me. I decided it was a good idea to jump in the air when we were leaving the Welcome to Vegas sign. Um my dress decided to fly up which cased all the cars to honk. Too funny. I didn’t jump anymore that day.
Here I am, still lacking a ring on my finger. Maybe next trip!
That night we decided to try to go to a fancier club. Um, yeah they are all closed on Tuesday nights. We got bored and went photo crazy instead.
After that we went to the hot tub. Funny story, I wanted a Mt Dew to drink while we soaked in the hot water. Turns out the bottles out of our vending machine where different sized at the top then normal bottles. I’m like super Mt Dew addict and realized it in seconds. Some creepers tried to hit on us at the hot tub. Gross.
On the last day we did tons more just wandering around. Went out to Rio and Palms.
Jenni and I had a running joke going about Bail Bonds after seeing a commercial in our room. Naturally we got excited about seeing a sign for it and took pictures. Nah nah nah nah nah Bail Bonds!
Leave it to me to find Jersey Shore pictures!
Good thing I’ve been working out to show off my situation and tanning, lol.
Whenever my hair is straight, I love whipping it around. I did it a lot in Vegas. Surprised I didn’t come back with whiplash.
Then we wasted some time back at Hooters before leaving. We finally did some gambling. I won! I spent $2 and won back $3.95. Big time winner, lol.
So yeah, there is my Vegas trip in a nutshell. We took so so so many photos but these are some of my favorites. I have video too and will post it someday. Have to figure out how to edit first.
And only one more month until I’m in Vegas again! Already miss it.

I move it, I shake it, I drop it to the floor…
So yeah, I started go-go dancing last week. Totally fun. Can’t wait to get more jobs doing it. Hopefully I will at least.
In other news, got to see Charlaine Harris. It was so awesome. I didn’t get very good photos at all though. Oh well. I’ll put up a full blog about it on my website within a day or two. www.heatherfinley.net

April Recap
So here is the highlights of April 2010 as best as I can remember. Well at least what I found on my camera.
Okay honestly I can’t even remember anything from the beginning of the month. Clearly it wasn’t interesting.
Mid month I turned 25!
My friend Jenni took me out to celebrate. First we went to Alibi, then Dirty and Couture. It was fun. Since everyone I knew was gone for my actual birthday, that day I did a horror movie marathon by myself. It was super relaxing so good.
I also discovered why I was randomly finding Q-Tips on the ground in my apt.
After Jenni got home from Hawaii, I took her on a tour of Scappoose and St Helens. I was obviously excited about the Peace Candle.
We learned that St Helens had been taken over by Twilight.
Then we took a walk on the docks and at the park.
And then we found this volcano which is just confusing. When I worked in Scappoose I hated how many tourist thought St Helens, OR is where the volcano was. Why they put this up, I really don’t know.
The total highlight of my month was getting to meet PC and Kirstin Cast, authors of the House of Night novels. They are so funny. I hadn’t even realized that I basically have a HoN tattoo, lol. I actually just started the series like two weeks ago but am one book shy of being caught up.
Yep so that is about all I remember of last month. May is going to be a blast though. On the agenda: Charlene Harris, Vegas, boys, and hopefully lots of parties and dancing. Oh and the Lost finale! How can I forget that. I’m getting super dressed up (costume) and baking theme stuff.
Starting fresh
